As the company consolidates its radio access network with T-Mobile it expects to reach almost complete UK population coverage for 3G by the end of 2009. 3 has over 4.4 million active customers in the UK and over 20 million worldwide.
T-mobile
T-Mobile is one of the world's largest mobile operators with more than 125 million customers worldwide and is the service provider of choice for 16.7 million customers in the UK. T-Mobile has pioneered the mobile internet, and operates an award-winning 3G network with speeds of up to 4.5Mbps. As a pioneer of deep network sharing in the UK, T-Mobile plans to deliver close to complete population coverage for 3G services in 2010.
Virgin Mobile
Launched in 1999, Virgin Mobile is the UK's largest mobile virtual network operator and uses T-Mobile's network. With 4 million customers, Virgin Mobile is part of Virgin Media, the UK's first quad-play provider of broadband, TV, phone and mobile.
